The Washington Wizards traded disgruntled guard Jodie Meeks, cash considerations and a protected second-round pick to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for a protected second-round pick, the teams announced Monday. Multiple outlets reported that the Bucks, who set their 15-man regular-season roster on Monday, will waive Meeks, who signed with the Wizards as a free agent in July 2017. Meeks has served six games of a 25-game suspension leveled in August for violating the league's drug policy, although he is awaiting word on his appeal. Continue to Article

With a luxury tax bill of approximately $19 million on the way, the Washington Wizards gave themselves some salary relief on Monday by trading veteran guard Jodie Meeks to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Wizards attached a future second round pick and cash to the deal and in exchange received a future second round pick of their own. Giannis Antetokounmpo closed out the preseason with a “think of me when you talk MVP race” kind of game dropping 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists on a flatlined Timberwolves team Friday night (video above). Jimmy Butler will not be available for the Minnesota Timberwolves' final preseason game and former star Kevin Garnett is not happy with how his situation has been handled. NBA All-Star Butler reportedly yelled at his team-mates and Timberwolves officials during practice, having trained against the starting team, with the player explaining his frustrations to the media afterwards. Garnett, who was named MVP in the first of his two spells with the Timberwolves, has no issue with Butler arguing with team members but does not believe it should have reached the public domain.
