Giancarlo Stanton hit a mammoth solo homer in the fifth inning, J.A. Happ pitched six solid innings and the New York Yankees beat the Texas Rangers 7-3 Thursday night at Yankee Stadium. Stanton homered for the third straight game when he hammered a 1-1 fastball from rookie Ariel Jurado (2-2) into the lower rows of the left-field bleachers. The New York Yankees won't see Jacoby Ellsbury at all this season after the outfielder underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left hip to repair a torn labrum, the team announced Tuesday.
