Osuna earned the win in his first appearance with Houston after Marwin Gonzalez hit a three-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the Astros over the San Francisco Giants 3-1 on Monday night. “Especially like being in such a great team with great teammates, it’s easy to forget about the stuff that’s going on off the field, and being able to play and help the team win is unbelievable,” Osuna said. Marwin Gonzalez belted a three-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning, and the visiting Houston Astros turned a late rally into a 3-1 interleague win over the San Francisco Giants on Monday at AT&T Park. Gonzalez clubbed his 10th home run of the season off Giants left-hander Will Smith (1-2), driving home Alex Bregman and Yuli Gurriel, both of whom had walked. Giants right-hander Dereck Rodriguez continued what has been a stellar rookie season, lowering his ERA to 1.06 over his past four starts with a career-best seven shutout innings. Continue to Article

Per general manager Jeff Luhnow, Springer is expected to be out "about two weeks" but did not suffer a UCL sprain, meaning surgery will not be necessary. Outfielder Derek Fisher, 24, was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to replace Springer on the 25-man roster. Continue to Article

Houston
The Houston Astros are hoping for good news on All-Star outfielder George Springer, who exited Sunday's loss to the Dodgers after hurting his left thumb on a headfirst slide. It's unclear how long the 2017 World Series MVP might be out. Other than that I have no idea." Before the game, the defending champs put pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow discomfort. Continue to Article
