Since the middle of June, Rick Porcello has been in the habit of alternating good and bad starts each time that he takes the hill. Right-hander Chance Adams is being called up by the New York Yankees to make his major league debut Saturday against Boston. Left-hander J.A. When he came to the plate in the eighth for his final at-bat, he received a standing ovation from the Boston fans eager to see him make more history against the hated Yankees. A great team win, and something that I'll never forget," Pearce said on Thursday night after driving in six runs with three homers to help the Red Sox beat New York 15-7. Continue to Article

Chris Archer makes his first start for the Pirates in what the team hopes could be the beginning of a long and productive stint in Pittsburgh. The Pirates acquired Archer from the Tampa Bay Rays ahead of Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline. Pittsburgh also got closer Keone Kela from the Texas Rangers and drew praise around baseball for acquiring players who will remain under team control for years. Continue to Article
