While the White Sox wait for their All Stars of the future to develop, Jose Abreu is representing the club at the All-Star Game in the nation's capital. Abreu, elected by the fans to be the American League's starting first baseman Tuesday night, might represent the White Sox present, but he's a key part of their future, as well. No player is more under Abreu's guiding hand than Yoan Moncada, his fellow Cuban who just a season ago was the No. 1 prospect in baseball. Continue to Article

The tranquil, apple-growing community of Wenatchee doesn’t exactly scream “junior hockey powerhouse.” But the Wenatchee Wild just had as many players drafted to the National Hockey League as the Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans combined. Those latter teams play at a higher rung of junior hockey than the decade-old Wild, which speaks to what’s been accomplished within the north-central Washington town of 33,000 in a short amount of time. “I think Wenatchee is one of the true special places to play junior hockey in North America,’’ said Wild head coach Bliss Littler, who boasts one of the best first names and win totals of any hockey coach. "When I saw his name pop up, I did kind of get nervous," Toussaint said. "You see that name pop up, you're like, 'Oh, snap.'" Chiti was calling earlier this weekend to ask the highly touted pitching prospect if he'd like Continue to Article

You don't need to be a headliner of one of the White Sox major trades to make an impact on the ongoing rebuilding effort. The White Sox two representatives at Sunday's Futures Game had one very big thing in common: Neither was the most talked-about player in the trades that brought them into the organization. Luis Alexander Basabe was the No. 3 piece in the Chris Sale deal, overshadowed by Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech. Continue to Article

CHICAGO (AP) — Daniel Palka and Yoan Moncada each homered and Lucas Giolito tossed two-hit ball into the seventh inning, lifting the Chicago White Sox to a 10-1 victory over the struggling Kansas City Royals on Sunday. Moncada was 3 for 3 with a walk and three runs scored a day after leaving a game with a bruised right knee. Palka also had three hits and two RBIs while Tim Anderson and Kevan Smith each hit a two-run double as Chicago pounded out 13 hits. Adalberto Mondesi homered leading off the eighth for the Royals, who are 2-11 in July. In the final game before the All-Star break, Kansas City decided to go with a bullpen day. The relievers were no match for Giolito (6-8). The right-hander Continue to Article
