Another stellar performance from their ace and a big homer from their best pinch-hitter have lifted the Philadelphia Phillies to heights they haven't reached in seven years. Aaron Nola took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, Nick Williams hit his third pinch-hit homer of the year in the eighth and the Phillies moved into first in the NL East Saturday with a 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Pinch hitter Nick Williams led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a home run to give the Philadelphia Phillies a 2-1 victory over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays had tied the game on a seventh-inning single by Russell Martin, the first hit of the game allowed by Phillies starter Aaron Nola. The Phillies had climbed to nine games over .500 largely because of the starting pitching's ability to keep them in games. Zach Eflin was hit hard in giving up six runs in 4 2/3 innings and the Phillies lost the opener of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5, at Citizens Bank Park.
