With Adrian Beltre back on the disabled list, the Texas Rangers have contemplated shifting left fielder/first baseman Joey Gallo back to the position -- an idea Gallo doesn't support. Gallo came up through the minors as a third baseman, though he said it is his "least favorite position now" after playing elsewhere and seeing the toll the hot corner took on his body. "I'd rather catch," said Gallo, who told ESPN Radio earlier this year that he gave up catching as a kid after a young Bryce Harper bounced a pitch in the dirt to him while they were youth baseball teammates in Las Vegas, hitting Gallo in the ribs and making him cry. Minnesota manager Paul Molitor announced on Wednesday the All-Star catcher had surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The St. Louis Cardinals placed right-handed reliever Luke Gregerson on the 10-day disabled list with a shoulder impingement on Wednesday, the team announced. Right-hander John Brebbia was recalled from Triple-A Memphis to fill the roster opening.
