Luis Severino didn't think he'd be allowed to finish his marvelous performance Wednesday. When he was told he was going back out for the ninth inning, he made sure to close it out. Luis Severino pitched a dominant five-hitter for his first career complete game, and Giancarlo Stanton hit two homers as the visiting New York Yankees beat the Houston Astros 4-0 Wednesday night. New York Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to an elbow strain. Montgomery was taken out of the Yankees' matchup with the Houston Astros on Tuesday after just one inning. Because of the location of the injury many fans feared the worst as the possibility of Tommy John surgery was thrown out there, but Yankees supporters got good news on Wednesday as New York reported Montgomery simply sustained an elbow strain and will avoid serious down time.
