Following practice at Temple University's McGonigle Hall on Sunday, the Celtics were in a jovial mood. It's Boston's first crack at closing out this second-round series against Philadelphia, something few would have envisioned a week ago today. A week ago today the Celtics were getting ready for Game 1 with just one day's rest after a grueling seven-game takedown of Milwaukee in the first round, while the 76ers -- the NBA's hottest team at the end of the regular season, who needed just five games to dispose of the Miami Heat in the first round -- had had plenty of time to rest and prepare. Think about that," head coach Brett Brown pondered after the Sixers' 101-98 Game 3 loss to the Boston Celtics. Continue to Article

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons defended his decision to take a last-gasp shot that missed as the Boston Celtics claimed a 101-98 overtime victory and a 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semi-final. Simmons – coming off the back of a dismal display in game two – finished Saturday's contest with 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, but a number of costly errors ultimately proved decisive. Four turnovers harmed the 76ers bid to claim a first triumph of the series, while his wasteful shot with 19 seconds of overtime remaining gave the Celtics the chance to win. Continue to Article
