Cleveland sports came together in a memorable way Friday night at Progressive Field. Before the Indians hosted the Seattle Mariners, the Cleveland Browns two first round draft picks — quarterback Baker Mayfield, taken No. 1 overall, and cornerback Denzel Ward, taken No. 4 — were on hand for a ceremonial first pitch that got plenty of attention. Kyle Seager had three hits Thursday, including a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning, as the visiting Seattle Mariners earned a 5-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians. The Mariners led 4-0 early but the Indians tied it when Yonder Alonso hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning and Jason Kipnis and Edwin Encarnacion added run-scoring hits in the seventh. Remember Jim Riggleman, the infamous Nats manager that resigned from the position back in 2011 after a win against the Seattle Mariners? Bryan Price was fired as manager of the Cinncinati Reds Thursday, after the team started the 2018 season 3-15. Riggleman, who spent four seasons as their bench coach, was named the interim manager to replace Price.
