On Wednesday night, there was a mini popcorn-splosion at Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees were taking on the Minnesota Twins, and in the second inning a young fan caught a foul ball with a glove that exploded with popcorn the moment the ball fell Continue to Article

Didi Gregorius leads the major leagues with 27 RBIs and has eight home runs in 22 games, totals matched previously in Yankees history by only Babe Ruth in 1921 and Alex Rodriguez in 2007. Gregorius had a two-run homer and three RBIs as New York romped past the Minnesota Twins yet again, 8-3 on Tuesday. Gregorius hit an RBI single for a 2-1 lead in the third inning and pulled a changeup just inside the right-field foul pole and into the second deck for a 5-1 margin in the fifth, chasing Jose Berrios (2-2). Mikolas, who spent the last three seasons in the Japanese Central League, tossed seven strong innings and the St. Louis Cardinals completed their second sweep this season of the woeful Cincinnati Reds with a 9-2 victory on Sunday. ''I had great command over there,'' Mikolas said of his stint with the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants. Continue to Article

St. Louis right-hander Miles Mikolas beat the hapless Cincinnati Reds for the second time in eight days, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and striking out six with no walks in the Cardinals' 9-2 win at Busch Stadium on Sunday. The Cardinals, who swept the three-game series and sent the Reds to their fifth straight loss and 18th in 21 games this season, hit two home runs to back Mikolas (3-0). It was also the 10th straight time the Cardinals beat the Reds, dating back to last September. Continue to Article
