Danny Farquhar, the Chicago White Sox relief pitcher who collapsed in the dugout Friday in Chicago, remained in critical but stable condition on Monday after undergoing surgery to relieve swelling on his brain. "He's a fighter, and he's in the fight of his life right now," White Sox vice president Kenny Williams told USA Today. As you no doubt heard, White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar was rushed to the hospital with a brain hemorrhage on Friday. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that Farquhar is expected to remain in the hospital for at least the next three weeks. Nightengale notes that former big leaguers John Olerud and Kent Mercker suffered hemorrhages, Olerud as a college player, Mercker while a big leaguer, and each continued to play. Continue to Article

The latter part of April is a good time to check in on some of baseball's top prospects. The New York Yankees hope they have a good one in Gleyber Torres. Torres made his anticipated debut for the Yankees on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays, and although the 21-year-old infielder went hitless , his arrival drew plenty of attention.
