About the only thing that went wrong for Arizona in another win over the Dodgers was a base-running blunder that took away a home run. The Diamondbacks' third baseman Deven Marrero appeared to hit a three-run homer, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts argued that Marrero had passed Alex Avila between first and second. After a review, Marrero was credited with a single and ruled out for passing Avila, turning the hit into a two-run single. Continue to Article

The Los Angeles Dodgers' offense will get a fourth chance to lend a show of support to staff ace Clayton Kershaw. The dominating left-hander is an uncharacteristic 0-2 with a no-decision after three starts in 2018, although he has most certainly done his part with a 1.89 ERA into Sunday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Daniel Descalso homered and drove in four runs, and the Arizona Diamondbacks held off the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-7 on Friday night for their 10th straight regular-season victory over their NL West rival. At 10-3, the Diamondbacks are off to the best start in franchise history and own the National League's second-best record. Their 10-game winning streak against the Dodgers equals their second-longest versus any opponent in team history. During last year's playoffs, however, Los Angeles rolled to a three-game sweep of Arizona. Zack Greinke (1-1) overcame a messy first inning against his former team before settling down and retiring 12 consecutive batters. The right-hander allowed four runs and Continue to Article
