Kansas City
Michael Brantley made an immediate impact in his return from offseason ankle surgery with a pair of RBIs to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 3-2 win in their home opener against the Kansas City Royals on Friday afternoon. Brantley, who missed the Indians' first six games after undergoing surgery to stabilize ligaments in his right ankle last October, went 1-for-4 with a strikeout. Jose Ramirez also drove in a run as Cleveland snapped its two-game skid. Continue to Article

Cleveland
Despite the Cleveland Indians' decision to remove the contentious, cartoonish mascot from their caps and jersey sleeves beginning next season, there are some who feel the team is not properly addressing a deeper issue because it will continue to profit by selling merchandise featuring the red-faced symbol. Protesters chanting ''Change the name, change the logo!'' marched to Progressive Field on Friday before the Indians hosted the Kansas City Royals. Shohei Ohtani's electrifying start with the Los Angeles Angels certainly sent a jolt of excitement through his fans back home in Japan. A slugger who can also pitch, Ohtani homered in his second straight home game Wednesday, blasting a two-run shot off AL Cy Young winner Corey Kluber in the fifth inning of the series finale against the Cleveland Indians. Ohtani had only four hits and no home runs in 32 at-bats during spring training with the Angels. Continue to Article

Cleveland
Shohei Ohtani really didn't think his long drive to center field at Angel Stadium would get out of the park, so he sprinted around first base while it soared over the fence for his second homer in two days. Ohtani made the same sprint with the same thoughts one day earlier, when his first big league homer also surprised him by flying over the wall. The Los Angeles Angels' two-way sensation is doing things even he can't believe during his dynamite first week in the majors. Ohtani homered again at home in the fifth inning and Zack Cozart hit a game-ending shot in the 13th to give the Angels a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. One day after Ohtani hit an electrifying three-run Continue to Article
