Taylor Hall's short-handed breakaway goal at 15:31 of the third period gave the visiting New Jersey Devils a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday night. Hall scored as he came out of the penalty box after serving a bench minor for too many men on the ice. The breakaway resulted after Travis Zajac alertly chipped the puck through two Montreal defenders from inside the New Jersey zone at the end of a five-on-three situation. Continue to Article

Thatcher Demko survived a late barrage of goals and made 26 saves on 30 shots to earn his first National Hockey League victory as the Vancouver Canucks edged the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 in overtime Saturday. Demko earned a win in his NHL debut with the Canucks after being called up from Utica of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis. Thatcher Demko couldn't stop grinning the whole game in his first NHL start despite giving up the tying goals before the Vancouver Canucks won it in overtime. Alex Edler scored 1:21 into the extra period and Demko finished with 26 saves in the Canucks' wild 5-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
