Boston
NBA players, much like NBA fans, have no problem discerning between good teams and those that are shall we say, success-challenged? The Sacramento Kings (24-49) are indeed the latter, having already secured a spot in the NBA draft lottery by failing to make the playoffs for the 12th straight season. In what has been a night-to-night grind for the Celtics, tonight's game has the potential on paper at least, to be an easy breezy win for Boston right? Continue to Article

As expected, Kyrie Irving's first regular season with the Boston Celtics is over following a procedure on his left knee Saturday that team officials described as being "minimally invasive," that will keep him sidelined until the playoffs. Not having Irving for the final 10 games of the regular season is certainly disappointing for Boston, but it won't have the kind of devastating impact one might expect a team to have to endure when the leading scorer is out for a significant chunk of time. The Celtics said that Irving will need at least three and possibly as many as six weeks to recover from a procedure performed to relieve irritation on his left knee Saturday, that news coming almost simultaneously with the word that Curry has a Grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. The Warriors said Curry will be evaluated again in three weeks. Based on those timetables, it would appear that both the Celtics and Warriors will not only be without their All-Star point guards for the rest of the regular Continue to Article

Boston
The Celtics’ injury-plagued season began with a devastating blow on opening night and continued with steady jabs to the body throughout the regular season. The latest punch to the team's once–ambitious postseason plans landed Saturday, as the team announced Kyrie Irving would miss 3–6 weeks after undergoing surgery to remove a tension wire in his left knee. Barring a collapse from the Wizards, Boston will most likely face Miami or Milwaukee in the first round. Continue to Article
