When the Dallas Stars open a six-game road trip crucial to their playoff chances, they could run into a buzz saw in Pittsburgh Sunday at PPG Paints Arena. The Penguins (39-26-4) had their three-game winning streak broken Saturday night at Toronto 5-2, and also came away upset over an ineffective power play and an apparent goal by defenseman Brian Dumoulin that not only was waved off but resulted in a goaltender interference penalty -- with the Maple Leafs scoring on the ensuing power play for a 4-0 lead. With their latest run, the NHL-best Tampa Bay Lightning have reached a new milestone: first in the league to 100 points. Nikita Kucherov scored the tying goal in the third period and converted in the fourth round of the shootout, and Tampa Bay beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 on Saturday. Kucherov scored his 33rd of the season with 6:17 left in regulation, standing on top of the crease to convert a pass from Steven Stamkos to beat Antti Niemi and force overtime. Continue to Article

Two teams at nearly opposite ends of the NHL spectrum will square off Saturday as the surging Tampa Bay Lightning play host to the Montreal Canadiens. Tampa Bay (47-17-4) entered Friday's games with the best record in the NHL, and the Lightning's 24 home wins are one behind Pittsburgh for the most in the league. The Florida Panthers are hot at home and Roberto Luongo is doing his best to keep it that way. Luongo made 40 saves in his second shutout of the season, Nick Bjugstad scored his fourth goal in two games, and the Panthers beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-0 on Thursday night for their seventh straight home win.
