After winning the Florida state high school hockey tournament a little more than a week ago the Marjory Stoneman Douglas hockey team had another big moment on Monday. The Stoneman Douglas hockey team was practicing at the BB&T Center, home of the NHL’s Florida Panthers, on Monday afternoon as they prepared for the USA High School hockey national championship tournament in Plymouth, Minnesota later this month. The Florida Panthers arranged for Stoneman Douglas hockey players to spend time with the Stanley Cup. Last week, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas hockey team won the Florida state championship. The Florida Panthers feel they are finally playing up to their potential. Jared McCann scored at 3:47 of overtime and the Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Tuesday night for their third straight victory over a top-notch team.
