New York Rangers
After enduring a long losing streak, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist didn't much care how the New York Rangers won a hockey game. Lundqvist made a season-high 50 saves but the Rangers still needed John Gilmour's overtime goal to defeat the Vancouver Canucks 6-5 Wednesday night. ''It just feels good to win a game, to sit here and smile for once,'' Lundqvist said. Continue to Article

New York Rangers
Just a few weeks before the NHL trade deadline the New York Rangers told their fans that changes were coming. It continued over the past few days with the trading of Michael Grabner to New Jersey, Rick Nash and Nick Holden to Boston, and J.T. Miller and Ryan McDonagh to Tampa Bay. Oilers get a third-round pick and J.D. Dudek. Continue to Article

New York Rangers
Minutes later, though, word came that the New York Rangers in the nick of time sent defenseman and captain Ryan McDonagh and forward J.T. Miller to the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Vladislav Namestnikov (Miller’s cheaper equal) and a slew of prospects (Libor Hajek and Brett Howden) and draft picks (Tampa Bay’s first-round pick in 2018 and a conditional second-rounder in 2019). McDonagh, under contract for this season and next with a team-friendly cap number, wasn’t the best player on the market—that was Ottawa’s two-time Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson, who will likely find himself dealt in the summer—but he was the best player traded. Playing behind Victor Hedman he will bolster the Bolts’ already fearsome defensive left side. Continue to Article
