Late in the second period, with his team outplaying Colorado, Edmonton coach Todd McLellan couldn't believe his Oilers were trailing 2-1. ''Jay Woodcroft and I looked at each other and said, 'How are we losing this game?''' McLellan said. In 2014, Mirai Nagasu moved from her native California to Colorado Springs, to train with the elite Broadmoor Skating Club near the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Nagasu had finished fourth at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, but despite finishing third at the U.S. Championships in 2014, was passed over by U.S. Figure Skating and sat out the Sochi Games. The customized title belt the Arizona Coyotes pass around for a top performance in a victory was already in Antti Raanta's possession after a win two days earlier against Montreal. Raanta did even more to earn the belt Saturday, though he handed it off to defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson. Nathan MacKinnon declared himself fit on Saturday. MacKinnon has missed eight games with an upper-body injury, going down at a time when the Avalanche were thriving off his impressive play.
