Tyler Seguin had one goal and two assists and Jamie Benn and Alexander Radulov both collected one goal and two points as the Dallas Stars blasted the Minnesota Wild 6-1 Saturday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The clubs went into the night's action holding the Western Conference's two wild-card spots, and early indications were it would be a close, tight-checking affair, but the Stars blew the game wide open with a four-goal outburst in the second period to the delight of the home crowd. Not long before the Arizona Coyotes took on (and eventually lost to) the Dallas Stars on Thursday, some eyebrows were raised that Antti Raanta went from starter to backup. Some speculated that it was a decision made for disciplinary reasons. Well this could make for a pretty interesting NHL trade deadline. According to a report from Larry Brooks of the New York Post on Friday afternoon, the New York Rangers could become major sellers at the trade deadline, regardless of where they stand in the playoff race, and use it as an opportunity to “refresh and replenish” the organization. The mandate, approved (if not established) in the owner’s suite by Jim Dolan, is to build a Stanley Cup winner rather than to simply extend a seven-year playoff streak that is in jeopardy.
