The streak is now in double digits. The Colorado Avalanche won their 10th straight game on Monday night, taking down the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2. The Avalanche have been pretty darn good during that streak, outscoring opponents 41-16 during that span. Continue to Article

Like most NHL superstars, Auston Matthews doesn’t usually show much emotion. The first sign of life came when Matthews had a goal called back after it was determined he interfered with goaltender Jonathan Bernier, which was questionable to say the least. Minutes after having his goal overturned, Matthews picked up a juicy rebound off a William Nylander shot and buried it for his 21st goal of the season. Continue to Article

If the Colorado Avalanche’s New Year’s resolution was to never lose again, they’ve been sticking to it so far. With a 3-1 win against the New York Rangers today, the Avalanche are undefeated in 2018 (7-0-0), and that’s not even the extent of their ridiculous winning streak. The Avalanche are now at 26-16-3, a resounding rise from being under .500 not that long ago (they dipped to 12-13-2 on Dec. 7). Continue to Article

Through a rare scheduling quirk, Matt Duchene‘s first game as a member of the Ottawa Senators against the Colorado Avalanche was both a letdown and a case of instant gratification. The Senators faced the Avs on back-to-back games on Nov. 10 and 11, Duchene’s debut contests with Ottawa. Barring a highly unlikely trade or an equally unlikely meeting in the 2017 Stanley Cup Final (hey, the Avs are doing a better job holding up their end of the bargain in that regard), Duchene won’t play in Colorado as a member of the opposing team until 2018-19.
