Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars Thread

Team Tweets & News Articles
Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche probably wish they could push their bye week back, or cancel it altogether. Such logic would be understandable after last night’s jarring win: a 7-2 drubbing of the Minnesota Wild. The Avs impressed their Central Division rivals Continue to Article

Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche are playing with a swagger they didn't have while struggling last season. Carl Soderberg had two power-play goals, Nathan MacKinnon also scored with the man-advantage and added two assists, and the Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild 7-2 Saturday night. Mikko Rantanen also had a goal and two assists, and Gabriel Bourque and Patrik Nemeth each scored in the opening period for the Avalanche, who extended their season-best winning streak to five games in front of a raucous crowd at the Pepsi Center. Dallas Stars
Ben Bishop is getting regular work, and he and the Dallas Stars have been playing some of their best hockey of the season. Bishop made 26 saves in his fourth shutout of the season, Tyler Pitlick scored twice and the Stars beat the San Jose Sharks 6-0 on Sunday night. It was Dallas' fourth win in five games. Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche have relied on their stars to carry the offense, but it was the supporting cast that got things rolling on New Year's Eve. Gabriel Landeskog scored twice in less than two minutes in the second period, and Colorado routed the New York Islanders 6-1 on Sunday night. Carl Soderberg and Erik Johnson had a goal and an assist each, and Matt Nieto and Patrik Nemeth also scored for Colorado, which blew open the game with four goals in the second. Continue to Article
