Karl-Anthony Towns scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves continued their dominance of the New Orleans Pelicans in a 116-98 victory Saturday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Timberwolves (25-16) won the two previous meetings, both of which were played in New Orleans, by scores of 108-94 (Nov. 1) and 120-102 (Nov. 29). Damian Lillard handles himself well, as usual. Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was already upset about how their road game ended against the Minnesota Timberwolves, telling reporters afterwards that opposing point guard Jeff Teague was “literally hugging me” before his failed game-winning shot attempt. Lillard also lamented the fact that he attempted just one free throw — on a technical foul — even though, “I attack the rim as much as anybody in this league.” The Blazers attempted just five foul shots to the Wolves’ 21 in a 108-107 loss.
