While attending a Philadelphia 76ers home win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, Hall of Fame swingman Julius Erving fell ill and was transported to a nearby hospital. Erving was in a suite at Wells Fargo Center when his health worsened and he was reportedly removed in a wheelchair. Erving was in attendance and the team commemorated him for his iconic rock-the-cradle dunk over Michael Cooper in 1983. Continue to Article

Australian rookie Ben Simmons set an early tone with 11 first-quarter points on Friday and his Philadelphia 76ers went on to crush the under-manned Detroit Pistons 114-78. Cameroonian center Joel Embiid scored 23 points to lead six Philadelphia players in double figures.
