The Bruins made plenty of mistakes in Saturday night's overtime loss to the New York Rangers, but perhaps most glaring was the pair of too many men on the ice penalties late in the tightly contested hockey game. The first too many men call wiped out the Bruins' final power play of the game, and the second infraction set up the Mats Zuccarello overtime game-winner in the 3-2 victory for the Rangers. Bruce Cassidy had a wry smile on the Bruins bench right after the penalty was called, and copped to a guilty plea of trying to get away with a little something after the game was over. It was a highly entertaining hockey game at its core, but it was also one that will go down as a loss for the Boston Bruins when it's all said and done. The Bruins dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the New York Rangers on a Mats Zuccarello sniped shot that beat Tuukka Rask high to the glove side, and ended the Bruins attempts to come all the way back from a two-goal deficit midway through the game. The Rangers struck first on a fluky goal in the first period as Michael Grabner sped through splitting the Bruins defense, and fired a shot high and wide that took a wild carom off the glass and ricocheted off the back and skate of Tuukka Rask before ending up in the back of the net. Depending upon how things go for each team, the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins may very well grapple for a wild-card spot in the East. Thankfully, it won’t come down to Michael Grabner‘s deeply weird, memorable, and fun goal against Tuukka Rask, a “bank” goal that Grabner totally meant to do. J.T. Miller added a beauty of a goal to make it 2-0, but the Bruins dug deep to tie it 2-2, so we’ll see how the rest of that game goes. Continue to Article

One of those strange streaks was extended on Thursday night, as the Washington Capitals defeated the Boston Bruins for the 11th straight time. The last time the Bruins took down the Caps was in March of 2014. The B’s have made a coaching change, they’ve altered the roster, but they still can’t beat the Caps. Continue to Article
