While you were perusing Joel Embiid’s Instagram account, news broke Thursday afternoon that erstwhile Sixers center Jahlil Okafor, a casualty of The Process, has been freed from his seat on the Philadelphia bench. Okafor, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 draft, will reportedly go to the Nets in a trade that sees Trevor Booker go to Philly, while Brooklyn also receives Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-rounder that belongs to the Knicks. James Dolan is one of two NBA owners named in a lawsuit alleging they helped cover up Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual harassment and assault. Two NBA owners are listed as defendants along with several other current and former members of the Harvey Weinstein Company’s board of directors in a class-action lawsuit accusing them of willfully covering up the disgraced movie producer’s decades of alleged sexual harassment and assault. New York Knicks owner James Dolan and Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry, both former directors at the company, are among a dozen defendants named on the lawsuit filed in Manhattan Federal Court on Wednesday by six women who allege Weinstein assaulted them, per multiple media reports. Six women sued Harvey Weinstein and men who served on the board of his film company Wednesday, accusing them of functioning like an organized crime group that used agents, producers and others to prey on young women seeking a break in a breakneck industry. The racketeering lawsuit in federal court in New York sought to represent "dozens, if not hundreds" of women who say they were assaulted by Weinstein after being isolated in close quarters such as a hotel room after bystanders were sent away. It said the "proverbial 'casting couch' was Harvey Weinstein's office of choice" in an arrangement condoned by defendants Miramax LLC, The Weinstein Co. Holdings LLC. Knicks owner James Dolan has been named in a new class-action lawsuit filed against disgraced Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein. Dolan is accused of knowing of Weinstein's pattern of sexual misconduct from his time on the board of Weinstein's eponymous production company.
