Brad Marchand is on the verge of a return to the Bruins lineup, and once he wants to be back in for good. The 29-year-old Marchand ditched the maroon no-contact jersey for Tuesday's practice at Warrior Ice Arena, and both he and David Backes are now game-time decisions for Wednesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This past week saw the Flyers hit the ice three times and fall three times in disheartening fashion, pushing their losing streak to seven games, the longest for the club since it lost 10 straight in 2008. Less than 90 seconds in, Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning very much had a feeling of déjà vu. With Phillipp Grubauer getting the start against the best team in the league, the Caps took a penalty just 44 seconds into the game. Grubauer failed to freeze the puck on two different opportunities allowing the Lightning to keep the puck in play and score the early goal to go up 1-0. Continue to Article

Tampa Bay (16-4-2) is off to the best start in franchise history, but this week lost to the New York Islanders, needed a rally to beat Chicago and then went the final 58 1/2 minutes without a goal against Washington. Love it or hate it, the loser point is a reality in the NHL, and the Philadelphia Flyers are one of the teams that really make things weird with what is now an 8-9-6 record in 2017-18. No doubt about it, there are a lot of reasons to be frustrated if you’re a Flyers fan right now.
