Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Matt Murray is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. Coach Mike Sullivan said Tuesday that Murray is "week to week" after the 23-year-old left Monday night's 5-4 overtime win over Philadelphia in the second period following a collision with Flyers forward Jakub Voracek. Murray was on the ice for several minutes before making his way to the bench and limping down the runway to the locker room while favoring his right leg. Continue to Article

Sidney Crosby redirected Kris Letang's shot past Philadelphia's Brian Elliott 1:48 into overtime as the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied for a 5-4 victory over the Flyers on Monday night. The Penguins lost goaltender Matt Murray to a leg injury in the second period and trailed by two entering the third before storming back against the reeling Flyers, who have lost eight straight for their worst skid in nearly a decade. Beyond an increase in penalty calls, you might chalk up some of the climbing scoring stats in the NHL to teams observing the Pittsburgh Penguins’ formula for success. Granted, a huge part of it is “employ Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.” Even so, the Penguins were struggling at times before Mike Sullivan took over as head coach and, essentially, decided to throw caution to the wind. Long story short, the argument goes that the Penguins decided to “outscore their problems,” with said problems being placed mostly on the shoulders of their defensemen. Continue to Article
