Matt Murray's big save on Mike Hoffman in the first period Thursday night might have been the turning point for the Pittsburgh Penguins. It sounds like the Columbus Blue Jackets rewarded him for that hard work on Thursday. The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline reports (sub required) that the Blue Jackets signed Atkinson to a seven-year, $40.25 million extension, which translates to a $5.75M cap hit starting in 2018-19.
