In the grand scheme of what the Seattle Seahawks are trying to accomplish this season, a failed physical could end up becoming a huge benefit. The Seahawks began taking inventory of their injury situation Friday, a day after a brutal 22-16 victory over Arizona kept Seattle on the heels of the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West at 6-3. Indianapolis Colts released cornerback Vontae Davis after six seasons with the team, the Colts announced Thursday. Davis' release comes a day after it was reported that he was going to have season-ending groin surgery after seeking another medical opinion on the injury. Texans coach Bill O’Brien has been known to have a quick hook with his quarterbacks, so the news that backup T.J. Yates was getting some work with the first string on Wednesday is eye opening. With Deshaun Watson out for the season, Yates is the backup to starter Tom Savage, with Josh Johnson as the third-stringer. Since Savage has spent most of the season working with the second team, it would seem to make sense to give him plenty of work with the first team now that he’s starting. Continue to Article
