Don't think for one minute Michael Raffl isn't having fun. For a guy that scored 21 goals in 2014-15 and was at times featured in a top-line role alongside Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek, remaining his jovial self would seem like a challenge. At 28 years old, Raffl is an elder statesman of sorts among Laughton and Leier, both 23 years old. Continue to Article

After starting the season with wins in six of their seven games the Toronto Maple Leafs have hit a bit of a rut in recent weeks, winning just three of their past nine games heading into Wednesday’s home game against the Minnesota Wild. This will be the first game that Matthews has missed in his career due to injury. Minnesota Wild
While the Bruins once again showed a gutsy effort Monday night with a rag-tag group in a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild despite all the injuries, there were also some lessons to be learned from the game. Perhaps none was bigger than the way the Bruins played in the third period with a big lead, and specifically, the way David Pastrnak was managing the puck with the Bruins rolling and the Wild teetering on the edge of waving the white flag. For the majority of professional hockey players at the highest level, that first NHL game is the rest stop off the interstate. Thursday night in St. Louis - as O'Neill made his NHL debut in the Flyers' 2-0 win - at the corner of Clark and 14th Streets may as well have been the parking lot at Disney World for 29-year-old Will O'Neill, who leading up to the game, had heard and experienced just about every other player's first NHL experience, except his own. "I always believed in myself that I was a good player, that I could play at this level," O'Neill said. Continue to Article
