Community Picks: Milwaukee Bucks 0% vs Charlotte Hornets 0%

The Celtics play at the Bucks on Thursday night in a matchup of two likely playoff teams in the East, but the game won't be played at Milwaukee's home stadium, the Bradley Center. In honor of the Bucks' 50th anniversary season, the game will take place at UW-Milwaukee Panther arena, which was known as MECCA Arena (Milwaukee Exposition, Convention Center and Arena) when the Bucks called it home from 1968–88. The court will, of course, feature the same dimensions as a traditional NBA floor, but it will be painted in the same bright colors that made the original stand out decades ago. Continue to Article

The Milwaukee Bucks are ready to host a special night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, better know as “MECCA.” One person isn’t too happy about it — Kyrie Irving. The one-time special game between the Bucks and Celtics is a nostalgia night and an ode to the team’s home from 1968-88 and features a design from the era. However, it really seems like Kyrie Irving thinks the court he’ll be playing on is actually from 1988. “I’m all about safety though, so see how it is on my knees, see how it is on everyone’s bodies. After scoring a career-high 44 points, Giannis Antetokounmpo wrote a note on the game ball. Antetokounmpo scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, including a dunk that put Milwaukee ahead 111-110 with 11 seconds to go. Even if Gordon Hayward weren't out indefinitely with dislocated left ankle and fractured tibia, the Boston Celtics would still be working on finding the right combinations to play with that works. The team's newer faces in new roles created some old-as-beginning-of-time problems for the Celtics with players not consistently being where they were supposed to while in the game. Celtics forward Gordon Hayward sent a video message from his hospital bed before the team's home opener, telling Boston fans: "It hurts me that I can't be there." The crowd at the TD Garden for the Celtics' game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night cheered when Hayward appeared on the video screen, wearing a hospital gown and sitting up in bed. He said he was watching the game on TV and "I'm going to be all right." Hayward was injured in the sixth minute of his first game for the Celtics, crumpling to the floor Tuesday in Cleveland with a gruesome ankle injury.
