As reliever Adam Warren continues to throw and feel no pain in his back, he gets closer to returning to the Yankees' bullpen before the end of the regular season.  Warren experienced back spasms at the beginning of the month and has been on the disabled list since Sept. 6 (retroactive to Sept. 3) with the injury. On Tuesday, the right-hander threw 30 pitches during a two-inning simulated game.  "I feel good," Warren said, according to the New York Post. "Just having hitters in the box was important, and I'm right where I want to be now. ... The whole goal when this thing came up was to get back out there before the [regular] season was over. The next inning, former Yankee Russell Martin stretched the lead with a two-run shot to left.  The final blow was in the bottom of the sixth, when the No. 9 hitter Ryan Goins launched a grand slam to right center field that ended, not only Tanaka's night, but the Yankees hopes to victory.  The only run the Yankees put on the board came from Aaron Judge, who hit his 46th on the season in his Continue to Article

A young girl hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of New York Yankees third baseman Todd Frazier during Wednesday’s Yankees-Minnesota Twins game has sparked reconsideration of a longstanding legal controversy: to what extent should teams be legally responsible for foul ball injuries? Courts have long recognized the so-called “Baseball Rule,” which imposes a limited duty on the part of teams to protect fans from foul ball injuries. Although courts have not always described the duty in consistent ways, the general takeaway is that teams must provide protective screening to fans seated in a “zone of danger.” This zone includes seats behind and near home plate. The Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and fund-raising by Houston Texas star J.J. Watt showed us just how much of an impact pro athletes can have as humanitarians. Now that Puerto Rico has been — as news reports say — “absolutely obliterated” by Hurricane Continue to Article
