Community Picks: San Francisco Giants 0% vs Los Angeles Dodgers 0%

LOS ANGELES — You would expect Madison Bumgarner to come into Dodger Stadium in September and twirl a gem, but his sidekick in a 2-1 win over the Dodgers was a bit of a surprise.  Gorkys Hernandez had two doubles and a single while leading off, scoring both runs in support of his lefty ace. Bumgarner cruised through seven, allowing just three hits on 83 pitches while striking out five. Austin Barnes ambushed him while leading off the eighth, cutting the deficit in half. Cody Bellinger came a few feet away from a go-ahead homer, but his drive died at the track in right. The Los Angeles Dodgers gave Tommy Lasorda the ultimate birthday present on Friday. The festive evening which began with the team celebrating the legendary manager’s 90th birthday, ended with the Dodgers celebrating their fifth consecutive NL West championship. The reasons: First, including their division-clinching 4-2 win over the Giants on Friday night, the Dodgers have won only seven times in their last 27 games.
