Los Angeles Dodgers
The attendance at Citizens Bank Park for Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers was just 20,145. Everyone will say they were there the night Rhys Hoskins went toe-to-toe with Pedro Baez's high-octane fastball and delivered the big hit that helped lift the Phillies to an emotional 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers (see observations). Hoskins, the Phillies' rookie sensation, had four RBIs in the game, all of them coming on full-count hits in the sixth and seventh innings. Continue to Article

The legend of Rhys Hoskins continued to grow Tuesday night. The attendance at Citizens Bank Park for Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers was just 20,145. Years from now, it will be quadruple that. He got the Phillies on the board with an RBI single against Dodgers starter Yu Darvish in sixth inning. Then, with two outs in the seventh, he lashed a tie-breaking, Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
There was no way the Phillies were winning this game, right? Nick Pivetta carried a 6.75 ERA into his start — that's the fifth-highest ever by a Phillies pitcher in a season in which he'd pitched at least 110 innings — and he was facing one of the best pitchers in the game in Los Angeles Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw at Citizens Bank Park on Monday night. Kershaw, a three-time National League Cy Young award winner, entered with the best ERA in the majors — 2.12 — and he'd allowed just one run in 31 innings in his previous four starts against the Phillies. What's more, five players in the Phillies' lineup had never faced Kershaw, and usually, the advantage goes to the pitcher in those situations. Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
Three things they teach you in Little League: Ready position, keep your eye on the ball and catch it with your jersey. OK, so maybe no Little League coach ever said that last one, but Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Nick Pivetta did it anyways Monday night. Pivetta was facing the Los Angeles Dodgers — specifically catcher Austin Barnes — and when Barnes ripped a comebacker right at Pivetta, the pitcher pulled off the type of catch you don’t often see.
