None.  Syndergaard did say that he does not want for "10 months to go by without me competing in a meaningful game." Well, to put it bluntly, there is no game from now until the end of the season that will be meaningful for the Mets. Yes, I know, Syndergaard essentially meant he wanted to be back playing on the major league stage -- which I'm sure would give him confidence and make him feel good about returning in 2018. The Mets are reportedly concerned about having RHP Noah Syndergaard return this season as they feel he needs to be completely healthy in order to come back, according to The Record's Matt Ehalt. Syndergaard had hoped to return from a partially torn lat during this weekend's series against the Atlanta Braves and did not report any issues during a bullpen session on Thursday, however manager Terry Collins said he wanted Syndergaard to face live batters before he returns to a game, according to the New York Daily News' Kristie Ackert. In the five weeks since his Mets debut, Dominic Smith hasn't put up dominant numbers in any category, leading some to express concerns that he wasn't ready for the majors. But he is already beginning to adjust, and his .879 OPS in September shows the potential he brings. Possibly as a function of his relative youth at each level, Smith has a history of adjusting slowly to his promotions. As a 20-year-old in High-A, he mustered just a .220 average with one extra base hit in the month of April. From May onwards, he hit .314 and finished the year with 33 doubles. Likewise, the following year in Double-A, he put up mediocre numbers well into May, before catching fire and batting .323/.397/.495 from Continue to Article
