If you haven’t noticed by now, the Indians are on something of a roll. On Friday, they did one better, shutting the Orioles out 5-0 to take their 16th straight win. Mike Clevinger led the way, holding the Orioles scoreless through six and striking out seven of 23 batters to extend his scoreless streak to 18 consecutive innings. Continue to Article

Tim Duncan is asking for help for the U.S. Virgin Islands, and says he will match donations up to the first $1 million. The Cleveland Indians won a franchise record 15-straight games, and a local business will now pay out $1.7 million to honor a promotion it ran in July. Universal Windows Direct offered full rebates to any customer purchases in July if the Indians won 15-consecutive games after Aug. 1, ESPN reported Friday. And, after the Indians beat the Chicago White Sox 11 to 2 on Thursday night, the company's co-owners William Barr and Mike Strmac will make good on the offer. Barr told ESPN he thought up the promotion as a way to celebrate the company's 15th anniversary. The Indians set its franchise record of 14-consecutive wins last season. During the past two weeks, the Indians outscored opponents 109 to Continue to Article

Chicago White Sox
The surging Cleveland Indians rolled over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night to pick up their 15th consecutive victory, cementing their status as a primary World Series contender. The streak has been huge for the Indians' postseason hopes. As the reigning American League champions, they faced high expectations heading into this season, but a slow start left them with a 48-45 record through July 19, just a half-game ahead of the Minnesota Twins.
