Rays catcher Derek Norris has been suspended by MLB for the remainder of the season and fined $100,000 for violating the league’s domestic violence policy, commissioner Rob Manfred announced Friday. An alleged incident between Norris and Kristen Eck, his former fiancée, came to light June 6, when Eck wrote on Instagram that she had been "physically and emotionally abused by this beautiful man." Major League Baseball just announced that free agent catcher Derek Norris, most recently with the Tampa Bay Rays, has been placed on the Restricted List and will be ineligible for the remainder of the 2017 season, including the postseason.
