Chicago White Sox
When he rebounded without a second thought Friday, Reynaldo Lopez displayed one of the primary reasons why he’s one of the more advanced White Sox prospects. Temporarily frustrated when the Tampa Bay Rays’ Logan Morrison beat him for the second time, Lopez quickly regained his composure and avoided letting a third-inning rally spiral out of control. Rays catcher Derek Norris has been suspended by MLB for the remainder of the season and fined $100,000 for violating the league’s domestic violence policy, commissioner Rob Manfred announced Friday. An alleged incident between Norris and Kristen Eck, his former fiancée, came to light June 6, when Eck wrote on Instagram that she had been "physically and emotionally abused by this beautiful man." While Eck did not mention Norris by name, she was identified as Norris’ fiancee in a 2015 interview she did with MLB Network. Norris denies the allegation. Continue to Article

Tampa Bay Rays
Major League Baseball just announced that free agent catcher Derek Norris, most recently with the Tampa Bay Rays, has been placed on the Restricted List and will be ineligible for the remainder of the 2017 season, including the postseason. The discipline is being imposed based on the results of the league’s investigation into domestic violence allegations leveled at Norris by his ex-fiancee earlier this year.
