Michael Feldman, a top photo editor whose 40-year career took him from the gritty streets of Philadelphia to major international sporting events including the Olympics and soccer's World Cup, died Wednesday. Feldman, who spent two decades as a photography news leader at The Associated Press before his 2008 retirement, died at his Philadelphia home, according to his son, Adam Feldman. The owners of an MLB-worst 48–81 record, the rebuilding Phillies haven't had much to cheer about this year. The 24-year-old Hoskins debuted on August 10, going 0-for-2 in a 10–0 loss to the Mets. That he has a workmanlike approach to his craft that figures to serve him well over the long haul — that will carry him through the lulls that are sure to come. He allowed that it has been “not so hard” to keep his wits about him as he has humbled a humbling game, however temporarily — as he has smoked 11 homers in his first 18 major league games, the latest a solo Continue to Article

You surely remember Charlie Manuel and the Wawa bag. When Manuel was fired on Aug. 16, 2013, he walked out of Citizens Bank Park with a Wawa bag in tow, creating a sad image to signify the end of an era in Phillies baseball. Now back with the Phillies as a senior advisor, Manuel has clearly been able to get over the heartbreak of the moment and even inject a little humor. Continue to Article
