Brewers minor leaguer Julio Mendez was transported to a local Phoenix hospital Saturday night after he was hit by a pitch, the team announced Sunday. Mendez, who plays for Arizona League Brewers, was batting when Angels minor leaguer Austin Krzeminski accidently hit him in the ribs/chest area during the ninth inning of Saturday's game in Tempe, Ariz. Milwaukee Brewers minor leaguer Julio Mendez suffered a cardiac event after being hit by a pitch Saturday night and is hospitalized in critical but stable condition, the team announced Sunday. Mendez, who plays for the Arizona League Brewers, was hit by a pitch thrown by Los Angeles Angels minor leaguer Austin Krzeminski in the ninth inning.
