Los Angeles Dodgers
RH reliever Jacob Rhame, who the Mets received from the Dodgers in exchange for Curtis Granderson, is now the team's No. 23 ranked prospect, according to MLB.com. Rhame's ranking is the highest among all the prospects the Mets have received while trading Granderson, Lucas Duda, Addison Reed, Jay Bruce, and Neil Walker over the last few weeks. "Like a number of young players we got, he's a righthanded pitcher who throws hard," Mets GM Sandy Alderson said, according to Newsday. "He's close to major-league ready. Hopefully, we'll see him either in September or spring training. We're very happy we got him." Rhame was selected by the Dodgers out of Grayson Community College in the sixth round (184th Continue to Article

Pittsburgh Pirates
Despite spending the afternoon with 12-year-old Little Leaguers who idolize pros like himself, Josh Bell didn't find himself dispensing much advice. "No one came to me and asked, 'What do you think about my swing?'" Bell said. Bell homered and drove in four runs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates over the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 in the Little League Classic on Sunday night. Continue to Article

Justin Verlander and Kenta Maeda both took no-hitters into the sixth inning, but only the Detroit star was able to keep his outstanding performance going as the Tigers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1 on Sunday. Verlander (9-8) allowed a home run to Curtis Granderson in the sixth. But shortly after his no-hit bid ended, the Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the inning against Maeda. The Los Angeles right-hander retired the first 15 Detroit batters before allowing five hits in the sixth. The homer by Granderson was one of only two hits off Verlander. He walked one and struck out nine in eight innings. Maeda (11-5) was pulled after the sixth inning and lost for the first time in seven starts. Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
The Mets acquired right-handed reliever Jacob Rhame from the Dodgers, the team announced on Sunday. Rhame is the player to be named later in the trade that sent outfielder Curtis Granderson to Los Angeles on Friday night. While his ERA saw a sharp spike from its modest 3.29 mark in 2016 (perhaps thanks in part to a midseason DL stint due to an undisclosed injury), he’s controlling the ball better than he has in several years and has drawn some attention with a fastball that occasionally touches 98 MPH on the radar gun. In 41 games for the Dodgers' Triple-A team this season, Rhame pitched in 41 games, posting a 4.31 ERA while earning two saves in four opportunities. All 210 of his appearances in his minor league career have come in relief, and he has a career 3.11 ERA. Meanwhile, Granderson, 36, is in the final year of a four-year, $60 million deal. In 573 games during his time with the Mets, he hit .239 with a .341 OBP, 95 home runs, 106 doubles, 12 triples and 27 stolen bases.
