The saga of the St. Louis Cardinals “rally cat” — or “rally kitten,” if you prefer — appears to have taken a happy turn on Friday after the team announced the missing kitten had been located. The St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach reported spotting and rescuing a kitten overnight in City Garden that appeared similar to the kitten who famously took over Busch Stadium moments before Yadier Molina’s game-winning grand slam on Wednesday night. The same group says it’s now “confident” it’s the same cat we saw scratching and clawing at Busch Stadium grounds crew member Lucas Hackmann as he attempted to safely remove it from harm’s way. In Thursday night’s game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals, Cards starter Lance Lynn experienced a pitcher’s nightmare scenario. Lynn was pitching to Lorenzo Cain, and on the 1-2 pitch Cain took a mighty rip that sent the ball forward into a line drive.
