Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves Thread

Atlanta Braves
Odubel Herrera, doesn’t seem to care about pitches in the dirt, though. The Philadelphia Phillies centerfielder saw one he liked on Tuesday night and sent it way into the seats for the unlikeliest home run we’ve seen in awhile. The Phillies were facing the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, and they had a 3-1 lead when Herrera came to the plate in the fifth inning. Continue to Article

Philadelphia Phillies
ATLANTA — Zach Eflin can now erase the memories of his last two major-league starts — at least temporarily. Eflin pitched seven strong innings on Tuesday night in the Phillies’ 5-2 win over the Braves (see Instant Replay). He allowed two runs with three strikeouts and one walk. He also went 1 for 3 with an RBI at the plate and won his first big-league game since July 22, 2016.    “Eflin was really good,” manager Pete Mackanin said. “The first inning, he didn’t look like he had a real good feel for his breaking stuff. Atlanta Braves
ATLANTA -- Rookie shortstop Johan Camargo has been pulled out of the Atlanta Braves' lineup after injuring his right knee while jogging onto the field before Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves said Camargo, 23, hyper-extended his right knee and will undergo an MRI Tuesday night. Camargo was taking the field when his right knee appeared to lock as he reached down to grab a handful of dirt or touch the chalk on the first-base line. He fell to the ground on the infield grass. Camargo was unable to put weight on his right leg when leaving the field. He needed assistance from assistant trainer Jim Lovell and third base coach Ron Washington. Jace Peterson replaced Camargo Continue to Article

Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies finally reached 40 wins by beating Rockies closer Greg Holland on Sunday, becoming the last team in the majors to do so. Despite their season-long struggles, the Phillies have dominated this series recently, winning nine of the last 11 meetings. Continue to Article
