The 22-year-old Smith, who is hitting .331 with a .388 OBP and .523 SLG with 16 HR, 33 doubes, and 74 RBI in 111 games this season for Las Vegas, will certainly be up at some point this month, Mets GM Sandy Alderson said last Monday. Like many of us, New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard is huge fan of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” As the television series winds down, some celebrities have been able to make small cameos as citizens of Westeros. Terry Collins is in the final year of a two-year extension he signed at the end of 2015. To date, there have been no reports that he and the Mets have discussed a contract extension. "That his situation remains unresolved is just one indication that there doesn't seem to be a clamoring within the Mets organization to retain Collins, and it may well be that -- after seven years of managing the Mets -- he's ready to move on to something else," ESPN.com's Buster Olney wrote this past weekend. This is not surprising, because a) Collins will be 69 years old next year and has hinted at considering retirement, and b) the Mets are on pace to lose 90 games this season, their most losses since 2009, which was the season before Collins and GM Sandy Alderson were hired.
