With the Bronx being a tough place to succeed, Yankees GM Brian Cashman needed assurance from Athletics executive vice president Billy Beane that newly acquired RHP Sonny Gray could handle the pressure. Cashman scouted Gray for weeks trying to determine whether or not the 27-year-old could thrive in the bright lights of Yankee Stadium.
