Steve Bartman, once Public Enemy No. 1 in Chicago, has apparently been forgiven by not just the Cubs, but their fans as well. The Cubs' announcement Monday that they had given a 2016 World Series ring to Bartman caught many by surprise. Bartman, of course, was vilified and threatened by Cubs fans for tipping a foul ball that left-fielder Moises Alou tried to catch near the stands during Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. Continue to Article

Jon Lester loved everything about Tuesday night, except for his performance on the mound. Lester hit his first major league homer and struck out nine to reach 2,000 for his career, helping the Chicago Cubs to a runaway 16-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. An attorney for the Arizona Diamondbacks says that Major League Baseball is so alarmed at the conditions of Chase Field that the league may require the team to leave the city unless stadium repairs are done. "Major League Baseball ... they're very, very concerned," attorney Leo Beus said to the Arizona Republic. Beus says that the issues stem from two incidents: one where a sanitation pipe burst in an office, and another where an air-conditioning system where failed because of a power surge in downtown Phoenix.
