Minnesota Twins
The first-place Washington Nationals have added another late-inning reliever by acquiring right-hander Brandon Kintzler from the Minnesota Twins. Minnesota gets 24-year-old left-handed pitching prospect Tyler Watson and $500,000 in international bonus pool allocation in the deal. The teams announced the trade just after Monday's deadline to make trades without waivers. Kintzler was 28 of 32 in save opportunities this season. He's expected to join former Oakland relievers Ryan Madson and Sean Doolittle in the back of the Nationals' bullpen. The 32-year-old Kintzler has a 2.48 ERA, 27 strikeouts and 11 walks this season. He's set to be a free agent after this season. Washington's 5.07 bullpen ERA Continue to Article

Jaime Garcia is joining the Yankees from the Minnesota Twins. Will Sonny Gray be the next addition to New York's rotation before Monday's trade deadline? ''That would be pretty nice, too,'' Todd Frazier said before Sunday's 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay, which stopped New York's six-game winning streak. Continue to Article

ARLINGTON, Texas — Adrian Beltre has gotten his 3,000th career hit, becoming the first player from the Dominican Republic to reach the milestone and 31st major leaguer overall. The 38-year-old Texas Rangers third baseman made history with his double down the left-field line on a 3-0 pitch in the fourth inning Sunday against Baltimore lefty Wade Miley. Beltre struck out swinging in his first at-bat of the game. Beltre is in his 20th big league season. He hit the mark only minutes after former Rangers catcher Ivan Rodriguez finished his induction speech at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Barring unusual circumstances, getting 3,000 hits has traditionally been a ticket to the Continue to Article

While discussing a possible trade to acquire Sonny Gray from Oakland, the Yankees made a more modest move Sunday and obtained Jaime García from the Minnesota Twins for minor league pitchers Zack Littell and Dietrich Enns. A 31-year-old left-hander, Garcia went 4-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 18 starts for Atlanta, was dealt to Minnesota last Monday and won his only start for the Twins, giving up three runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings at Oakland on Friday. Minnesota Twins
The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that they’ve acquired minor league catcher John Ryan Murphy from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for minor league pitcher Gabriel Moya. Murphy has played in 141 major league games across four seasons, three with the Yankees, one with Minnesota. He has spent the entire 2017 season at Triple-A, hitting .222/.298/.330 with four home runs and 27 RBI over 59 games. Which is not significantly different than what he did in the bigs. He’s 26 and will serve as organizational depth for Arizona. Moya is a 22 year-old lefty who has been the closer for the Dbacks’ Double-A team. He’s had a fantastic 2017 season, posting a 0.82 ERA and a 68/12 K/BB ratio in 43.2 innings. Continue to Article
