Atlanta Braves
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Chris Taylor drove in three runs with a home run and a triple, and Corey Seager and Chase Utley hit solo home runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night. Ending the two-game hiccup which saw the Dodgers outscored 18-6, Los Angeles has won 32 of 38, and 19 of 22 at Dodger Stadium, for the best record in baseball. The Dodgers' 67-31 mark is their best through 98 games since the Brooklyn Dodgers were 69-29 in 1942. Taylor, who entered the game as part of a double-switch in the seventh, led off the bottom of the inning by driving an 0-1 pitch from Julio Teheran 400 feet into the left field bleachers, Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded reliever Sergio Romo to the Tampa Bay Rays in a deal between playoff contenders. The NL West-leading Dodgers sent Romo and cash to the Rays for a player to be named or cash. The trade was announced after Tampa Bay, which holds an AL wild-card spot, lost to Texas on Saturday night. Romo was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Thursday. The 34-year-old righty was 1-1 with a 6.12 ERA in 30 appearances for Los Angeles. Romo spent his first nine seasons with San Francisco before signing with the Dodgers this year. He is 3-1 with four saves and a 3.09 ERA in 27 postseason games, including six scoreless innings in helping the Giants win three World Series Continue to Article

Los Angeles Dodgers
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington died this week at the age of 41. On Thursday night Dodgers’ organist Dieter Ruehle wanted to honor the musician’s memory by playing “Numb.” It was early in the evening, and perhaps nobody in attendance noticed while they were filing to their seats — but this was a really nice gesture anyway. Thank you Dieter, and thank you Dodgers for this. Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
LOS ANGELES The Dodgers have won a lot of games with big hits. This time, they needed a couple little ones too. Yasiel Puig’s dribbler up the third-base line led to the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the Dodgers ended their two-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves Saturday night. The win continued the Dodgers’ dominant summer run after a brief pause. They are now 32-6 since June 7. The Dodgers’ first two runs Saturday came on solo home runs by Corey Seager (a 433-foot drive into the right field pavilion) and Chase Utley. But the ball hardly left the infield during the decisive sixth-inning rally. Yasmani Grandal led off by squibbing a ground ball up the third-base Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
Jaime Garcia was back on the mound Friday night -- for the Atlanta Braves. And his performance only helped his trade value. Garcia, the veteran left-hander at the center of trade talks with the Minnesota Twins just 24 hours earlier, took the ball for Atlanta and gave up three runs and seven hits over seven innings as the Braves rolled to a 12-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. And just to boot, Garcia also hit a grand slam off Alex Wood in the fifth inning -- the first for a Braves pitcher since 1966. "Very impressed how he put everything aside and did his job. He was really good again, just like he was the other day, on Sunday," Braves manager Brian Snitker said, referring to Garcia's win over Continue to Article
